International Animated Film Festival ANIMATOR is the biggest festival of animated films in Poland. Its first edition was in 2008 and it was a crowning of the celebrations of the 60-th jubilee of the Polish Animation. During each edition of the festival, about 500 films from all over the world are presented, including retrospectives, thematic screenings, premieres, as well as rarely screened films of the pioneers of animation. The list of special guests who have visited the festival includes outstanding authors of world’s animation, such as: Zbigniew Rybczyński, Brothers Quay, John R. Dilworth, Emily Hubley, Igor Kowalow, Bady Minck, Bill Plympton, Mariola Brillowska, David Ehrlich, Yoram Gross, and major Polish animators: Witold Giersz, Jerzy Kucia, Mariusz Wilczyński, Piotr Dumała, Kazimierz Urbański. The visitors to ANIMATOR are also the representatives of Polish animation studios and film institutions, historians of animation, or organizers of other animated film festivals in Poland and worldwide.
